The New Policy Framework which seeks to significantly redefine the
competitive nature of industry, would be applicable to new
licensees.
There are, however, multiple licences that have been issued by the
Government for cellular mobile services, basic services, radio
paging services, internet services etc. It is the Government’s
intention to satisfactorily resolve the problems being faced by
existing operators in a manner which is consistent with their
contractual obligations and is legally tenable.
